Dear friends,
Recently, there have been a number of fake accounts on Facebook and other social media platforms impersonating Ajahn Brahm. Even worse, many of these accounts are scammers who are trying to con followers out of their money.
While we are proactively reporting these accounts to social media platforms and requesting their deletion, it is our wish that all of our members, supporters, and friends are aware that Ajahn Brahm will never directly solicit funds from you on a social media platform, and any person claiming to be Ajahn Brahm and doing so should be reported to Facebook immediately.
An example of a common scam can be seen here:
- Go to the profile of the fake account.
- If you can’t find it, try searching for the name used on the profile or asking your friends if they can send you a link to it.
- Click
under the cover photo and select Find Support or Report Profile.
Any official social media account of Ajahn Brahm or the Buddhist Society of WA will be posted on this website.
On behalf of the Sangha, I ask that you please spread awareness of this to your friends who use social media to help prevent vulnerable people from falling victim to this scam, as well as to help the scammers from incurring further bad karma.
With Metta,
Stephen Connell
