Message from BSV President received 3 August 2026 and published with the writer’s permission:

Dear Ajahn Brahm, BSWA Committee and Lay Har,

On behalf of the BSV Committee and Community, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude for creating this opportunity to fundraise for the SOS Meditation Hall against the backdrop of Ajahn Brahm’s 75th Birthday. While the final figures are still being tallied, I am thrilled to report that the online auction, live auctions, and general donations on the day were in the order of $180K bringing us close to $500K since we launched the project on the 2nd of May.

Ajahn Brahm’s 75th Birthday also inspired great enthusiasm within the BSV’s fundraising team. Leading up to the auctions at Jhana Grove and Buddhaloka, we hosted a Sangha-led ‘Fireside Chat’ at Buddhaloka, along with fundraising stalls and fundraising activities to complement the auctions at each of the sites

On a personal note, I am immensely grateful for the invitation to this event and the ability to spend time at Jhana Grove and visit Dhammaloka, Bodhinyana, Dhammasara, and Kusala. Having the opportunity to seek Ajahn Brahm’s advice and to learn from those with a deep understanding of operations of the BSWA will be invaluable as we address some of the unique challenges we face at Newbury.

With immense gratitude,

—

In service of the Dhamma
