Associate, Full or Youth Membership?
Many new members start with an Associate Membership as they first begin to learn and practise Buddhism. We welcome Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike to support the Society by applying for this membership.
Youth Membership is free of charge to those under 18 years of age.
Full Membership is open to practising Buddhists who have taken the Three Refuges and the Five Precepts with an ordained Buddhist monk or nun. If you are unable to do so, you may take the precepts online at https://bswa.org/membership/. Once you have taken the precepts, please inform the Assistant Secretary.
Fully Paid Membership is available for both Associate and Full members for the equivalent of 20 years membership and will save you ever having to renew again in this lifetime!
The same annual fee of $50 applies to both Associate and Full membership; an Associate membership can be upgraded to Full at any time at no extra cost.
Only Full members have voting rights and are eligible to be office bearers of the Society.
How do I apply?
You may apply for Youth or Associate Membership by completing Part A, B and C of the membership form.
For Full Membership, we need your Membership Application Form to be endorsed by our Spiritual Director, Ajahn Brahm, a co-abbott of Dhammasara Monastery, or their representatives (please approach them in person for their signature).
A Membership form is required for all types of membership. You can download it from https://bswa.org/membership/. Email or post the completed form to the BSWA at PO Box 3135, Yokine WA 6060, Australia. You can also give the form to a monk at Bodhiniyana, nun at Dhammasara, or the Admin Officer at Dhammaloka.
