The Stables on Stocker Rd
The stables will be upcycled to become a 5 bedroom house for monks, novices and trainees.
The stables building is situated on the eastern boundary of 48 Stocker Rd, adjacent to Wundong Regional Park. Originally built in the 1980s, the structure is still in good shape having been built by a master builder. With 5 stalls for horses, showers and toilets, a storage area and saddle room there is plenty to work with. Ajahn Santutthi has imagined a design allowing us to house 5 residents with a simple but comfortable room in which to practice meditation. In addition to their own room, each resident will have a private fenced off outdoor area. Inside will be a simple kitchen, bathrooms, toilets and an office / library for study and administrative needs.
This property will be redeveloped to form Kusala hermitage.
