Sammādiṭṭhi Sutta (Right View) – Middle Length Discourses, MN 9
Great Arahant Venerable Sāriputta Mahā Thero gives a detailed explanation of Right View, the first factor of the noble eightfold path. At the prompting of the other mendicants, HE approaches the topic from a wide range of perspectives.
In this Sutta, Ven Sāriputta Mahā Thero gives a detailed explanation on sixteen (16) ways of attaining to Stream Entry! It is like a Stream having 16 fords, (or crossings). In crossing such a stream/river, one can use any of those 16 crossings to cross the stream & get to the other side. In the same way, in this Sutta, Ven Sāriputta Mahā Thero provides detailed descriptions/explanations on 16 ways of Entering the Stream, the Stream of the Dhamma, the N8FP, penetrating into the Dhamma & attaining to Stream Entry, Sotāpanna, Sovān.
