Bodhinyana monastery is nestled amidst the rolling hills of the Darling Range, near the small town of Serpentine, Western Australia. The monastery began its growth in 1983. Named after the great teacher Ajahn Chah, Bodhinyana means the ‘wisdom of enlightenment’. With the generous help and support of our dedicated lay community the monks have built Bodhinyana to establish a home beneath the trees, in harmony with nature.
Dhammaloka is the main teaching and administrative centre for the Buddhist Society of Western Australia. Located in Nollamara, just 15 minutes from Perth CBD, the Dhammaloka City Centre offers a range of services including regular dharma teachings and meditation classes, as well as WA's largest Buddhist library.
Dhammasara is open between 10am and 1pm.

Jhana Grove is a dedicated meditation retreat centre nestled in a valley of the Darling Scarp adjacent Bodhinyana Monastery in Serpentine. It can accommodate up to 60 guests at one time each with their own room and ensuite. This allows a great deal of privacy and thus maximises the benefits of meditation practice. Connected to the cottages, by a covered walkway, is a large, air-conditioned meditation hall with three adjoining halls for the convenient practice of walking meditation. There is also a well-equipped kitchen and dining area, as well as laundry, office, and storage facilities. A small caretakers residence completes the centre.
This group gives people the opportunity to learn meditation and to hear a short Dhamma talk, from the monks, during the week.
