Having built the stables, with four bedrooms to accommodate our monastic and lay residents, we’ve embarked upon a new project: the “granny flat”. Part of our town planning scheme allows for a two bedroom residence of no more than 70m² of internal floor space. These are referred to formally as “ancillary dwellings” but are commonly known in Australia as a granny flat. Once built, the plan is for the senior sangha members Ajahn Santutthi & Ajahn Jhanarato to move in, making two more bedrooms available in the stables.
