A message from Ajahn Sunyo, also on behalf of Venerable Vipassako:
A new BSWA hermitage in the South West! Thanks to everyone we’ve met over these first few weeks. All of you have made our stay very pleasant and productive for our practice. This includes those who brought us food and requisites, who have driven us to teachings, but also those who joined us for the Vesak celebration and the meditations. You have all been truly inspiring.
We’re teaching in Nannup and Busselton on alternate Sunday mornings. Those sessions are followed by a local food offering (dāna). Every Sunday afternoon we’re teaching in Margaret River. If you want to join us, we’d love to meet you. See the BAMBI events for details. During the rains retreat most sessions will continue under the guidance of lay teachers.
We’ve called our residence Harmony Hermitage. (This refers to the residing monks, not to the place, which we call Harmony Farm, after its original name.) The idea of harmony is very important in the Buddha’s teachings: to live in harmony with each other, with other beings, with nature, with one’s own heart, and—ultimately—with life itself. The idea of harmony also reminds us that we practice for others as well as ourselves.
With all this in mind, we hope to spend a lot more time in the area!
