Dr Brian Walker has practised medicine for many years in many different countries, before finally settling into practice as a GP in Serpentine and Claremont. He has front-line experience treating patients in hospitals, emergency departments and general practice. If you are familiar with the book Dying to be Be Me, which detailed the near-death experience by Anita Moorjani, it should be noted that Dr Walker was Anita’s GP in Hong Kong. She met up with him in the United States recently and did a beautiful interview which is available on YouTube. Dr Walker is also a member of the Legislative Council in the Parliament of Western Australia for the Legalise Cannabis Party.

Please note – our Friday Night Speakers during Rains (11 July – 7 Oct 2025) are NOT live streamed, so please come along in person to enjoy the talk!

Significance of the Rains Retreat for Theravada Buddhism: During the Rains Retreat, we have guest speakers on Friday nights as our monastics stay at their monasteries and hermitages rather than coming to Dhammaloka to teach.
