        with your awareness,
        you find no one dearer
        than yourself.
        In the same way, others
        are thickly dear to themselves.
        So you shouldn't hurt others
        if you love yourself."

This is the really important thing." -Ajahn Sujato (A Single Moment's Peace http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dvd6yrXYF6U)

                  • I keep looking for wisdom and Buddhism in regular popular culture, songs, media. It encourages me to reflect when they pop up in unexpected places.

Uncertainty - "A lot can happen between now and never"
Defilements and their nature - "I have my addictions, or rather my addictions have me"

                          • Just watched the video from last week's Dhamma talk that had net issues. Seeing the big smiles, laughter, and happiness in the latest ordained Bhikkhunis was very inspiring that the feeling of mudita naturally came to me followed by the thought of how fortunate it is that there are great potentials for new teachers to arise. May the new Bhikkhunis find stillness and complete renunciation within themselves.

More importantly for me, I'm not sure if my son will be a Buddhist when he grows up but if he does follow this path, may he receive the Dhamma from those Bhikkhunis and excel in it.

It is a marvelous gain! A gain that has a great effect for countless generations!!!!

for those trying to stop Dhamma!
for those who are trying to propagate the Dhamma!
for those who are trying to ordain with the right intentions!
for Ajahn Brahmavamso and all those numerous monastics that are trying to fix gender inequality!
