  • Where Aj Brahm is and records of his talks

    Dear all,

This thread started with Steve's comment about not knowing where our Ajahn is, as the link 'Where is Ajahn Brahm?' seems not to be updated. Since BSWA is run by volunteers, we should also volunteer to help with what we can.

So, I would like to propose that we all contribute info on where Ajahn will be and links to his recorded talks.

Here are some that I know:

    April 2 - 11 --- Jhana Grove retreat
May 1 - 11 (tentative) --- retreat and talks in Thailand
June 6 - 14 --- retreat in Phuket, Thailand, organised by Buddhist Fellowship Singapore (see details here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/budd...2651757972633/)

MP3 of Ajahn Brahm's talks at the Spirit Rock Center in California on 22 Feb 2015:

Video from Wisdom Publication's "Mindfulness: Three Buddhist Perspectives" event in Berkeley:

    Much metta,

I would gladly volunteer to update the "Where Is Ajahn Brahm?" site, but I don't know how interested the owners of that site would be in help from a guy on the other side of the planet who they never met. If I am wrong, let me know. I would like to help.

I discovered that Ajahn Brahm has a public Google Calender. Gmail users will be able to import that calender into their own.

        1. Log into your gmail account and bring up your Google Calender.

        2. Go to Ajahn Brahm's public Google Calender here

        3. In the lower right corner click on the "Add Calender" Button

You can use the "agenda" link in your calendar to get a list of his visits.

        HTH

        Happy Thursday

        Steve

          Steve,

Email PJ Gunasekera and offer him your help.
As far as being a guy no one knows from the other side of the world goes..... I've never been to Australia, but here I am taking care of this site. Be well. I'm almost certain PJ would love some more help.

                  Hi Dheerayupa,

The BWSA has a Google Calendar (public) for Ajahn Brahm. I would a way to embed it, agenda style. That doesn't seem to work with this web board software but I contacted Jerrod to see if he has any ideas about that. If so, I think AB's schedule would make a good sticky.

If not, I was able to pipe that feed into my twitter account. So if I can't post his schedule feed here I will make a twitter account devoted entirely to that.

I haven't had any luck tracking down his talk at Facebook. I left a message their ONE public phone number and I left a message in their help forums.

                    Hi Dheerayupa,

Do you mean that the Google Calendar isn't updated anymore?

well, there is nothing in April (when Aj Brahm is obviously giving a retreat in Perth), and in May (when he is giving talks and retreats in Thailand, as well as in Singapore), and in June when he is giving a retreat in Thailand, organised by Bodhinyana Singapore. This is a near future and some retreats need registration.

I think that 'Where is Ajahn Brahm' page should not only be about 'now' or the 'past'. It should tell us about his scheduled appearances so that people can make plans to see him or listen to his talks or attend a retreat.

Ajahn Brahm visits some countries only once a year, so I think the event should be widely publicised.

My dream is that all Ajahn Brahm's disciples networks should work together...

On the other hand, I understand how difficult it is to 'globalise' things.

                      With metta,

                      d.

Ajahn Brahm will be in Indonesia during June 22-25. He is giving a speech at the opening ceremony of the 14th Sakyadhita International Conference on June 24.

Ajahn Brahm will be in Korea during July 17 - 24 for the World Assembly of Meditation Masters 2015.
