Vesak is commemorated by Buddhists on the full moon in May each year to recollect the birth, Awakening and final passing of the Buddha. This year Venerable Kassapa has agreed to visit the South-West again to teach and lead the local community for the Vesak commemoration.
The public events being held are as follows:
– Saturday 22nd May, 4pm to 5.30pm – Talk: The Path to a Peaceful Mind – a talk followed by guided meditation class aimed at a general audience with Ven. Kassapa at the Duggan Pavilion off of Bussel Hwy in Cowaramup.
– Saturday 22nd May, 6pm to 7.30pm – Dhamma Talk: Who was the Buddha? – a talk followed by a traditional Vesak ceremony to recollect the Buddha, Dhamma and Sangha that have sustained Buddhism for over twenty-six centuries. This will also be held in the Duggan Pavilion, Cowaramup.
