Lesson One: Meditation Overview. In this course we will use a basic method of meditation. The stages are called: Present-moment awareness, Silent present-moment awareness, Silent present-moment awareness of the breath and Full sustained attention on the breath.
Introduction to Meditation is a free course for beginners and for those who would like to strengthen the foundation of their meditation practice by learning the basics.
The Introduction to Meditation course consists of 4 lessons. The course starts on the first Saturday of each month and the rest of the 3 lessons take place on consecutive Saturdays. Please Note: These classes don’t need to be attended in order. For example, you may start with Lesson 4 in August, and then do Lesson 1, 2, in September, Lesson 3 in October.
The course is free of charge and no prior booking is necessary. The course can be repeated as many times as one wishes to.
First lesson ‘Meditation Overview’ – Saturday, 05th September
Second lesson ‘Concentration and Stillness / Hindrances’ – Saturday, 12th September
Third lesson ‘Meditation in Action / Mindfulness’ – Saturday, 19th September
Fourth lesson ‘Loving Kindness Meditation’ – Saturday, 26th September
Please come in comfortable and modest clothing. You are welcome to bring your own meditation cushion/stool. If not, we have plenty of cushions/stools available and also chairs for those who prefer it.
