Ajahn Sunyo is a senior monk (over ten years as a fully ordained Bhikkhu) who has trained with Ajahn Brahm as his teacher at Bodhinyana Monastery for over a decade. He has kindly led BAMBI’s Vesak Day celebrations in 2024 and 2025 as well as various other teachings, and is now returning to spend four weeks in the South-West with our community. Those who have been to his teachings will have experienced his warmth, humour and practical wisdom. Ajahn Sunyo will be accompanied by Venerable Vipassako in January.
Ajahn Sunyo will be teaching for BAMBI (Busselton Augusta-Margaret River Buddhist Initiative):
Nannup:
- 9am, Sunday 11th January @ Nannup Recreation & Community Centre – guided meditation and Dhamma talk
- 9am, Sunday 18th January @ Nannup Recreation & Community Centre – guided meditation and Dhamma talk
Margaret River:

Opportunity to Offer Dana:
Meals are offered to the visiting monks every day around 10:30am, as the monks do not eat after midday. These food offerings (Sangha Dana) are a way for the community to show support for the monastics, but are also an opportunity to have a chat with the monks.
We’ve still got a few slots to fill on the visiting schedule of the monks that require kind volunteers to assist. If you are able to help out with any of the following tasks and times, please email sol@bswa.org to offer your assistance.
- Food offerings (sangha dana) in Nannup (10am): on Thu 15/1 or Fri 16/1
- Food offerings in Margaret River (10am): Fri 23/1, Sat 24/1, Sun 25/1, Tue 27/1, Fri 30/1, Sat 31/1
- Driving monks from retreat to Margaret River Community Centre, setting up the Main Meeting Room and driving back after the Sunday sessions on 18/1 and 2/2. (From 3.30 to 6pm)
